Veterans Park

Veterans Park at Baywalk Accessible by boat, Veterans Park is located on the Choctawhatchee Bay. This amazing wildlife observation is a hidden gem. With a Heron Rookery and Osprey nests, during the summer months, you can watch as these adult birds raise their young. The fifteen-acre park is home to over one hundred species of birds including bald eagles, hawks, red-winged black birds, egrets, loons, and great horned owls.

Take a stroll on the wooden boardwalk that will guide you through this beautiful nature preserve. Veterans Park is a stopover for the Monarch migration, and with all the freshwater ponds you are guaranteed to see turtles. Finish the walk with some lunch at the picnic tables or sit on this bench and watch as the boats stroll in the bay.
